James Drouin Obituary

James Joseph Drouin, 65, died Wednesday afternoon December 25, 2019 at High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill, MA. Jim was diagnosed in February of 2018 with Glioblastoma Brain Cancer and he fought valiantly for almost 2 years. He was born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania on October 12, 1954 to the late Rene J. and Norma E. (Blood) Drouin. Raised in Newburyport, Jim was a graduate of Newburyport High School class of 1972, he then continued his education at North Shore Community College. Thereafter, Jim was employed by DeMoulas Super Markets Inc. for 34 years.  Jim held many different positions at DeMoulas, ultimately retiring as a Merchandiser in May of 2018. He was an avid golfer, and a dedicated New England sports fan. His love for all things tropical brought him and his family to his favorite place, Key West, almost every year for 20 years.  Jim’s favorite pastimes were to spend time with his family enjoying a cigar and a glass of whiskey in his man cave. He especially treasured time spent with his 4 grandchildren, who will miss their  beloved “Papa” dearly.

Jim is survived by his wife of 43 years, Jennifer (Beebe) Drouin of Salisbury; children, Jeffrey Drouin and his wife Mary of Haverhill, and Melissa Drouin Davis and her husband Tyler Davis of Salisbury; grandchildren, Keira Drouin, Jack Drouin, Delaney Davis, and Meredith Davis; Mother-in-law, Mildred C. Beebe of salisbury; siblings, Shirley Foster and her husband Carl of Maine, and Ronald Drouin and his wife Joan of Seabrook; as well as several nieces and nephews.
