Gertrude M. (Melanson) Harward

To all of Gert's survivors: I am sorry not to be able to share in celebrating the life of this lovely person more directly with her family, so I leave some thoughts in writing. I was honored to have been her physician over the past decade or more, and I greatly enjoyed my visits with her. She was elegant, so carefully and tastefully dressed, and her kindness always shone through. We both shared a special love of dogs, and when she first learned that I have a mongrel that is half Wheaton Terrier, her eyes lit up as she had a beloved Wheaton as well. After she lost her dog, she never failed to inquire about the welfare of my "soft-coated Wheaton" whenever she came to my office. Rest in Peace, lovely woman....JM
