George F. Cooper

George F Cooper, 80 of Newburyport Mass passed away peacefully at his home December 05, 2018. He was born in Lawrence Mass on October 02, 1938 to George W. and Catherine (Ferris) Cooper. He is predeceased by his wife of 40 years, Jeannette (Arsenault) Cooper. George was a graduate of Merrimack College and Northeastern University with a masters degree. He served in the Marine Corps and Navy, worked and retired from the Commonwealth of Mass after almost 40 years. In retirement years he worked part time at Seabrook Greyhound race park and spent winters in Vero Beach FL with his wife. He enjoyed being active and involved as a Eucharistic minister with St Vincent de Paul in FL and the Immaculate Conception Church of Newburyport.

George is survived by his four children and six grandchildren. Daughter Mary Napoli, and her children Matthew, Madison and Allison of Amesbury, son James Cooper, and his children Brady and Ava of Newburyport, son John Cooper and wife Tammy of Danville NH, son Michael Cooper and wife Alycia and their son Adam of Hampton NH.

Family and friends may call from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Sunday December 9, 2018 at the Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950. George’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Monday December 10, 2018 at Immaculate Conception Church in Newburyport. Burial will be private at a later date.
