Fran (Parasso) Curran

Frances “Fran” M. (Parasso) Curran, 85, a lifelong resident of Newburyport, died peacefully Saturday morning January 26, 2019 at Care Dimensions Hospice House in Waltham, MA with her family by her side.  She was born on May 19, 1933 in Newburyport, MA to the late Andrew and Frances (Drew) Parasso.  Fran married Michael “Mike” E. Curran Sr., the love of her life and husband of 63 years, on August 16, 1953.  She graduated from Immaculate Conception High School and was employed by the Anna Jacques Hospital in Newburyport for most of her working career, serving the Hospital community admirably and with care in the Admissions Department.  For the past 2 years, Fran resided at The Elizabeth Calsey House (ECH) Assisted Living Residence; her family is grateful for the kind and loving support both Fran and Mike received from the ECH managers and staff.    

Fran was predeceased by Mike on June 15, 2017.  They were inseparable from the time they met in elementary school; it gives their family great comfort to know they are together again, with Fran tending heaven’s garden.  Fran and Mike are survived by their sons Michael E. Curran, Jr. and his wife Debbie, and Mark D. Curran and his wife Donna; grandchildren, Joshua Curran and his wife Jamie, Emma Curran and her husband Chris, Matthew Curran, Jessie Curran, and Christopher Curran and his wife Kate; and great grandsons Andrew and Colin.

Family and friends may call on Tuesday January 29, 2019 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Twomey, LeBlanc and Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Wednesday January 30, 2019 at Immaculate Conception Church, followed by burial at St. Mary Cemetery.  

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Frances’ name to Immaculate Conception Church 42 Green St. Newburyport, MA 01950.
