Dorothy “Dottie” (Markos) Cross, 54, passed away suddenly but peacefully at her home on March 25, 2018. She was daughter of the late George and Isabelle (Yelle) Markos.
Dottie is survived by her devoted husband of 30 years, Douglas Cross, and their three beloved sons - George Arthur Cross and his wife Tiffanylee (her best friend), William Cross and Thomas Cross, as well as their significant others, Dianah and Sabrina. Also, two dear stepchildren, Douglas Cross Jr. and his wife Leah, Linda Faghan and her husband Bob, and Linda’s sons, her grandchildren Alex and Jacob.
Additionally, Dottie leaves behind many loving siblings - Arthur Markos, Patricia Woodsom, Arlene Cross, Cynthia Irish and Christina (Markos) Porter - as well as many loved brothers and sisters in law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and two very spoiled kitties - Mittens and Mo. She is further predeceased by two brothers, Richard and Frank Woodsom.
A longtime employee of Anton’s Dry Cleaners in Newburyport, Dottie was also a beloved co-worker and friend to many. Though first and foremost, she was a family woman. Words cannot describe how much and how fiercely she loved her family. Her children - including her cats - were everything to her. She cherished every family gathering, holiday, birthday and more. When she walked into any event, she instantly lit up the room - and turned up the volume.
She is in heaven now, sitting in a rocking chair with Miss Kitty, watching over us all. She will be dearly, dearly missed.
Family and friends may call on Friday March 30, 2018 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950. Parking available behind the Funeral Home. Dottie’s Services and burial will be private.
