Charles “Charlie” A. Souther, Jr., 95 of Seabrook, NH died December 29, 2019 at Country Center for Health and Rehabilitation in Newburyport after a period of declining health.
He was born in Seabrook, NH, son of the late Helen (Dow) and Charles A. Souther, Sr.
Before retiring Charlie was employed as Head Custodian at the Salisbury Memorial Elementary School. He had previously worked at Star Tronics and C.B.S. Hytron.
Charlie will be remembered for his generous spirit, sense of humor, and love of family and friends. He will also be remembered as a devoted fan of the Red Sox and Patriots.
His family includes his three daughters and their husbands; Kathy and Ken Demeritt of Seabrook, NH, Lynn and Bob Hamel of Seabrook, NH, and Donna and Peter Sargent of Manchester, NH, 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many close friends. He was predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Lena (Gagnon) Souther in 2001, his sisters Myrtle Janvrin and Annie Moore, and his companion of 12 years Delphine Nichpor in 2018.
Charlie’s family wishes to thank the staff of Country Center for their dedicated and loving care of Charlie, as well as Constellation Health Care for their special care.
Family and friends are are invited to Charlie’s funeral service at 10:30 AM on Tuesday January 7, 2020 at the Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950. THERE IS NO LONGER ANY PARKING AVAILABLE BEHIND THE FUNERAL HOME PER ORDER OF THE CITY OF NEWBURYPORT. Visitation will follow the service from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM in the funeral home, followed by burial at St. Mary Cemetery in Newburyport.
Memorial contributions may be made in Charlie’s name to the Residence Council Fund in ℅ Country Center 180 Low St. Newburyport, MA 01950.
