Charles W. Linnell, Jr., 84, of Merrimac, Mass., passed away peacefully at Port Healthcare Center on Thursday, May 18, 2017. He was born on June 19, 1932, in Cambridge, Mass, and served in the U.S. Army overseas from 1951-1952. He worked as a finish carpenter in several different industries, and built many pieces of furniture as a hobby throughout his life, including a pool table. He liked to collect models of old classic cars, and was an ardent fan of the Boston Patriots, Bruins, and Celtics.
He is survived by his loving wife Norma Mansur and stepdaughter Jennifer Mansur, both of Merrimac, Mass., as well as by his four children: Andrea (Doug) Gathany of Raymond, Maine; Stephen (Linda) Linnell of West Palm Beach, Florida; Laurie Freeman of Newburyport, Mass., and Paul Linnell of Alexandria, Virginia. He is also survived by six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services and burial will be private. The Twomey, LeBlanc & Conte Funeral Home in Newburyport will be assisting Mr. Linnell's family with the arrangements.
