I'll always be indebted to Tony as he intervened on my behalf (even though he didn't know me) and essentially saved me from losing my job at "Milk Street."
I used to remind him how truly grateful I was for his invaluable help each yr when I saw him at the Feast.
I distinctly recall 1 yr. when he asked me to help him sell raffle tickets. When one of his friends came by Tony introduced me as someone who had "worked with him" back in the day.
That was somewhat of a stretch since he was #1 there and I was an absolute peon.
I remember him telling me he was spending some of his retirement making (and I'm sure eating) pizza at Tripoli's.
Godspeed and please save me a slice (or two) Tony!
