Ann M. Clancy, 92, died Sunday December 9, 2018 at Rockingham County Nursing Home in Brentwood, NH. She was born on September 12, 1926 in Boston, MA to the late Martin and Anna (McConnell) Murphy. Raised in Massachusetts, Ann was educated at the Mount Saint Mary Schools in New Hampshire. She married her late husband Paul F. Clancy in 1947 and together they raised their family in Newburyport, MA and Elmhurst, IL. They later would move to Hampton, NH where they spent their retirement years.
Ann was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed various other arts and crafts, especially knitting and braiding rugs. She was also a talented volleyball player.
Ann is survived by her brother Edmund Murphy (Elaine) of Manchester, NH, her children, Paula Wandland (Fred) of York, ME, Michael Clancy (Sharon) of Naperville, IL, Stephen Clancy (Bridget) of Elmhurst, IL, Peter Clancy of Elmhurst, IL, and M. Christopher Clancy (Lisa)of Santa Monica, CA; 19 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Ann was predeceased by her grandson Patrick Clancy and her siblings, Dot Murphy, Peg Makere, Joan Hochschartner, and Martin Murphy.
Family and friends may call on Thursday December 13, 2018 from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950. Her Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Church followed by burial at St. Mary Cemetery both in Newburyport.
