Virginia Ann (Pease) Stack

Ginger (93) slipped away in her sleep on March 29 at Port Rehab in Newburyport.

She was born in Glens Falls, N.Y.  and was the daughter of Andrew Jackson Pease and Wilda (Forbes) Pease. She spent most of her young life growing up in Bangor, Maine and graduated from Bangor High School.  She then received her RN license at Eastern Maine Medical.

She moved to Boston and proudly lived on Beacon Hill while training as an emergency room RN at Pratt Diagnostic hospital.  She then married James F. Stack and they started their family in Billerica, MA where she resided in the same house for over 60 years.

While raising her four boys she got involved in many local organizations and served as the president of the League of Women Voters for many years.  When her children were grown, she returned to her health care career and served as Director of Nursing for two local nursing homes.

Ginger was predeceased by her parents and only brother Andrew Jackson Pease Jr. 

She is survived by her four sons Daniel and wife Pam of Dover, NH, Jimmy and his life partner Linda Watkins of Billerica, MA,  Robert of Wilmington, MA and Jeff and wife Laurie of Plum Island, MA.  She also leaves her beloved grandchildren Kimberly and her partner Joey of Northbridge, MA, and Eli of Wells ME, as well as her two Besties Pat Smith of Tewksbury and Cora Taylor of Florida.

She will be missed deeply and sadly by all who knew her and remembered by everyone in their own way.

Family and friends may call on Monday April 1, 2024 from 3:00 to 4:00 PM at the Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950. Her Funeral Service will follow in the Funeral Home at 4:00 PM. Burial will be private at a later date.
