Susanne K. (Keogh) Fleming

Susanne K. Fleming died on November 15th in Anna Jacques Hospital in Newburyport, MA.  Susanne is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Chris and Tom Teusch, her four sons – Edward, John, Richard and Christopher – as well as her two grandchildren – John Patrick Fleming de Torres and Grace Fleming de Torres.  She was born on April 11, 1941 of Thomas J. Keogh and Margaret M. Keogh of Worcester, MA.  Educated at Notre Dame Academy, Wachusett Regional High School and Worcester State University, she graduated with a degree in primary education and taught for many years in Massachusetts and Virginia.  She married Richard T. Fleming on July 17, 1965 and moved to Virginia.  After Richard died of cancer in 1979, she remained in Virginia, raising her four boys on her own.  After her retirement, she returned to Massachusetts in 1999 and followed her dream of becoming an antique dealer. Settling in the Newburyport area to be close to her family, she loved living by the ocean on Plum Island in a house she shared with her two dogs - Murphy and Duchess.  Those who knew her well remember her as a classy lady, a devoted mother of great fortitude and perseverance and a journeyer who stopped often to laugh and smile.

Susanne’s funeral service will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday November 21, 2017 at the Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950. Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m prior to the Service. Parking available behind the Funeral Home. Burial will be private at a later date.
