Sandra Lambert Obituary

On July 7, 2017, after a brave battle with ALS, Sandra Marie (Paganelli) Lambert died peacefully at home, surrounded by love.

Born in Haverhill, Massachusetts on November 21, 1943 to the late Angelo Gaetano Paganelli and the late Rose Alba (Zanuccoli) Paganelli.  She attended Haverhill Public Schools, graduating from Haverhill High School in 1961.  She earned her Associate's Degree from Fisher College in Boston.

Sandy and Larry were married on October 17, 1965 in Bradford, settling in Newburyport, Massachusetts in 1970 where they raised their 3 children and she continued to be an active member of the community.

Sandy worked as a staff associate to the Vice President of Academic Affairs at Northern Essex Community College for 20 years, where she always reached out to help everybody, especially students.  She was a member of the Northern Essex Retirees Group, volunteering as the treasurer.  As an active member of Girl Scouts for over 40 years, she inspired others with “Courage, Confidence and Character”.

In retirement, Sandy volunteered with Immaculate Conception Church as a Eucharistic Minister.  Every week she brought the Holy Eucharist to residents in area nursing homes and to patients at Anna Jaques Hospital.  Sandy was blessed with the wonderful gift of connecting with people, always sharing her message of Love.

Sandy is survived by her husband of over 50 years, Laurent Peter Lambert of Newburyport; her three children, son Laurent Philip Lambert and wife, Lisa of Plaistow, NH; daughter Lisa Ann McDowell and husband, Chris of Juneau, Alaska; son Daniel Christopher Lambert and wife, Nyla of Newburyport; 10 grandchildren Peter, Nicholas, Mary Lambert; Marina, Lauren, Anna, Amanda, Emma McDowell; Rima, Alex Lambert; brothers Donald Paganelli and wife, Joanne of Sebastian, FL;  Richard Paganelli and wife, Mary of Georgetown, MA; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and beloved friends.

Her family would like to thank the Curt and Shonda Schilling ALS Clinic at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center, Lahey Health and VNA of Middlesex-East Hospice Care and the numerous friends and family who provided love and support throughout her illness.
