Russell "Mike" Stanwood

Russell “Mike” Stanwood, 64, passed away suddenly on Saturday September 16, 2017 at his home in Kingston, NH. Mike was born on August 1, 1953 in Ipswich, MA to the late Russell E. and Alyce V. (Somers) Stanwood. He was raised in Newburyport and was educated in the Newburyport School system. 

He was employed for many years as a machinist for the Will-Mor Manufacturing Company in Seabrook. An avid New England sports fan, Mike enjoyed watching and attending many games with his family and friends. He also enjoyed taking road trips to Georgia to visit with his family. 

Mike is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Cynthia (Dennis) Stanwood of Kingston, NH, children, Noelle Stanwood of Amesbury, and Corey Stanwood of Amesbury, step-children, Joseph Gregory of Seabrook, NH and Robert Gregory and his wife Marevic of Salisbury, grandchildren, Alexys Stanwood, Brady Burnham, and Jaxon Burnham, as well as his sister, Pamela Dempsey and her husband Lawrence and nephew William “Socko” Dempsey of Stockbridge, GA, nieces, Jody Caldwell and Christy Hicks of Atlanta, GA and nephews, Peter Swisher and Dylan Swisher of Portal, GA. Mike was predeceased by his siblings, Kathy V. Earnst and Edward H. Earnst. 

He will also be missed and loved by his dog Dakota.

Family and friends may call on Sunday September 24, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950. His funeral service will begin at the Funeral Home on Monday September 25, 2017 at 9:30 AM followed by 10:30 AM graveside service at St. Mary Cemetery in Newburyport.
