Richard Guertin

On February 4, 2018 the angels came to bring our sweet brother to heaven.

Richard Guertin, age 59, was a resident of Plum Island. He left this world on Sunday morning February 4, 2018 from Portsmouth Regional Hospital in Portsmouth, NH. He was born on December 16, 1958 in Haverhill, MA to the late Victor R. and Dorothy A. (Riley) Guertin. He graduated from Haverhill Public Schools. Richard was employed for many years at Career Resources in Haverhill.  He was then employed by Opportunity Works in Newburyport and as an Assembler for Xentrex Electronics in Newburyport.

Richard was quick to make friends with everyone he met.  He was a bright light in this world.  We are all very fortunate to have had him in our lives.

He enjoyed spending time and dancing at the Beachcoma, bowling with his friends, and vacationing in Florida. Above all he loved to socialize on the beach with his many friends, family and his dog Abby. Everyone that met Richard immediately fell in love with him.  He will be sadly missed by all.    

Richard is survived by his siblings, Dorothy Mugavero and her husband Richard of Plum Island, Marialice Rumore and her husband James of Methuen, Ronald Guertin and his wife Barbara of Newburyport, Victor Guertin and his wife Barbara of Haverhill and Maureen Guertin of Haverhill as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents Richard was predeceased by his brother Robert Guertin.

Family and friends may call on Wednesday February 7, 2018 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High ST. Newburyport, MA 01950. Parking available behind the Funeral Home. Services and burial will be private at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Richard’s name to Opportunity Works 10 Opportunity Way Newburyport, MA 01950.
