Paul Quinlan Obituary

Paul Joseph Quinlan of Salisbury Massachusetts (formerly Newburyport Ma) died peaceful on Saturday March 18, 2017 at his home. He was born on May 4 1930 in Lawrence Ma. He was 86 years young. He attended High School and served in the United States Navy. Paul worked at Roussles Clothing Store and then as a machinist for 25 years at General Electric. Paul married Marilyn Harward October 26 1948 and together they had 7 children. 

He was a man of deep Catholic faith who never missed a mass. He possessed an amazing sense of humor and had the talent of making people laugh when they most needed to find a smile. His blue eyes never failed to bring about a sense of comfort to those around him. Paul was a successful baseball player for Lawrence High School and the U.S. Navy. He loved all Boston Sports, especially his beloved Red Sox. Paul could always be seen sporting his Red Sox, Patriots, Bruins or Celtics hat . He was so proud of his family and he would say his biggest accomplishment in life was his family. He was known to his family as Paul, Dad, Daddy, Big Goona and Big Dewey. Paul ‘s big blue eyes , incredible sense of humor and strength as a husband, Dad ,Grandfather and uncle will be forever etched in our hearts. 

Paul is survived by his loving wife of 67 years and his children Cathy Harvey and her husband Larry; Gary Quinlan and his wife Constance; Kristine Harrison and her husband Wayne; Mark Quinlan and his partner Judy Milliken; Neil Quinlan and his wife Barbaranne; Kerry Quinlan and his wife Maureen and Colleen Poulin and her husband James; Grandchildren: Jennifer, Jaime, Joshua, Jill, Michael, Greg, John, Nicholas, Katie, Jenna, Cathleen and Hailee; 13 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and his sister Connie Monroe of Connecticut. He was predeceased by 7 brothers and sisters and his parents John and Catherine Quinlan.

A memorial service will be held in the future to honor and celebrate his life. The Twomey, LeBlanc & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950, is assisting Mr. Quinlan’s family with his funeral arrangements.
