Kenneth J Bell, 76, of Sebring Florida and formerly of Salisbury, died Sunday September 10, 2017 at the Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH. He was born in Newburyport on October 11, 1940 to the late James D. and Lucinda (Noyes) Bell. Raised and educated in Newburyport Kenneth was a graduate of Newburyport High School class of 1958.
He was employed for 24 years as a Mechanical Design Engineer for Osram Sylvania in Ipswich until his retirement in 1997, he was also a Call Firefighter in Salisbury for many years. In his retirement years he and his wife Carol would “snowbird” to Florida before making their permanent residence in Sebring. During his summers in Salisbury Kenneth enjoyed driving for Saulter Bus Co. in his retirement. Kenneth was a member of the Masons and Elks in Newburyport as well as the Lions in Salisbury.
Kenneth is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carol (O’Shea) Bell of Sebring, Florida, sons, Ken Bell and his wife Bev of Nottingham, NH, and Scott Bell and his wife Robin of Exeter, NH, grandchildren, Chelsey Bell, Kenneth Bell and his wife Samantha, Gregory Bell, and Jordan Bell, great grandson, Kenneth "Jaxon" Bell, siblings, James Bell of Newbury, Fred Bell and his wife Elaine of Newburyport, Frank Bell and his wife Joyce of Salisbury, and Barbara Welch of Newburyport, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was pre deceased by his sisters Helen Bell and Rita Bowman.
Family and friends may call on Saturday September 23, 2017 from 12:00 to 4:00 PM at the Twomey, LeBlanc, & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950. Services and burial will be private.
