Ann Marie Casellini, 92, passed peacefully with her family at her side on October 6, 2017 at the Merrimack Valley Health Center in Amesbury, MA. She was born on April 14, 1925 in Salem, MA to the late James and Josephine (Bertuccio) Arno. She was raised in Salem and educated in Salem schools. She met and married Arthur Casellini and the couple moved to Newburyport, where she raised her family. Ann was employed at Sylvania (GTE) for almost 40 years, rising to the position of supervisor of accounting and payroll for the general engineering department.
Ann was happiest when caring for and enjoying time with her family. She will be remembered for her ravioli at Christmas, cheering on her grandchildren at ball games, and almost thirty years of shared walks at sunrise and sunset from her summer house on Salisbury Beach.
Ann is survived by her husband of seventy-five years, Arthur, as well as her son Jim, her daughter-in-law Nancy, her grandchildren Peter, Jill D’Attilio and her husband Jeff, Nicole Sopic and her husband Sasha, Matthew and his wife Brigid, Michael McKinnon, Ashley and Catherine, and her great-grandchildren Trevor, Brett, Mason, Emma, Lauren, Tyler, Caden, Carraugh, Maeve and Callen.
Ann is survived by her brother, Joseph Arno of Danvers, her brother Richard Arno and his wife Shirley of Salem, and her brother-in-law Bill McKinnon of Danvers. She was pre-deceased by her son Bill, her sister Eleanor Gaudette of Salem, her sister Adele McKinnon of Danvers, and her sister-in-law Catherine Arno of Danvers.
Family and friends may call on Wednesday October 11, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Twomey, LeBlanc & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St., Newburyport, MA 01950. Parking is available behind the funeral home. Her funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Thursday, October 12 at Immaculate Conception Parish in Newburyport. Burial will be private at a later date.
